Sometimes I feel like people think I’m crazy when I tell them my wife and I will probably retire by 39 (currently 35) but we are also well on our way using the same methods you are (albeit a bit more conservative in my own stuff, kids and all). You rock dude. Love your content. Love your story.
Thanks Justin! As I am getting out of the military to do Youtube full time, I tell people I’ll be financially retired in two years and they don’t believe me. They just give me a blank look and kind of ask, “But what REALLY will you be doing?” They want me to give them a standard answer like accountant or government contractor. They just don’t believe me that this is possible.

Jake, you’ve done really well! Thank for sharing and for teaching us a thing or two along the way on your own investing journey. I myself got caught up in the 2020 consumer stock investing frenzy. Was doing really well and basically made a couple bad investments which left me holding the bag on a some individual stocks that I don’t see recovering anytime soon. Down a lot but been thinking it’s time to cut my losses and get my act together… opportunity cost.
For sure Donny! The market has been up huge the last year, so if you found yourself in individual stock positions that lost you a lot of money, I would just be careful listening to the people who told you to buy those positions. Lots of bad advice being given out on YouTube based on hype. #1 piece of advice when picking individual stocks is to avoid IPOs, SPACs, meme, and penny stocks. That’s where all the bag holding has been this year cause they were all pump and dumps. Take care!

@Kao Saeteurn just take every lunch break you can and watch every video you can. Regardless of who it is. Jake does a great job of simplifying it but as you know, we all have different learning techniques. Be the mental sponge we’ve been trained to be. You got this!

Thank you for your Serving the mIlitary, you said something that get me thinking if you have a covered call and it get assigned, you buy it? how do you do that? I thought once it assigned it had to be sold. Do the seller have first right to buy back the options?

Hey Jake, great video as always! I was wondering if you would make a video detailing the strategy you mentioned in this video regarding contracts on SPY in order to increase your cash flow or total asset growth. I’m also in the Air Force and have a family so investing is a bit tight, I invest regularly and enough to be able to buy put/call contracts on SPY and I would really like to increase my cash flow so I can reinvest more heavily. I’m not sure if you’ve done this already but I would love to know “Jake’s guide to getting started in investing”. I fully believe in needing to get dirty and learn it yourself. I think a lot of us see ourselves in you: a normal person who has a job and wants to be an active investor with common sense. I personally would like to learn about your education and practice journey.
